All too often I hear the phrase “paid ads didn’t work for me” uttered by small business owners in my community and Membership and it makes me a little sad as I know the potential that using paid ads, whether it be Google, Facebook or even TikTok can bring.

With the right money spent in the right places, you can scale up your messaging and really get your website seen by more of your ideal customer much quicker than with organic tactics.

However, the platforms that advertisers provide aren’t often intuitive and it’s easy to spend money without quite realising what you are spending it on and without doing the right prep up front first, it’s a recipe for failure.

As a business owner, it’s important to get the most out of your paid advertising campaigns. You don’t want to waste money on ads that don’t generate leads or conversions because you will never make enough to re-invest and grow either.

In this post I am going to outline the 7 key things you have to focus on before you ever spend a penny on paid ads and hopefully get you on the path to saying “ads DO work for me and my business!”
